Seasons Seep, Winter Through Spring, by Esther Clare Griffiths

Bare beetle scurries

Shiny green back glows, gleaming

Echoes of childhood

Dewdrops sweeping low

Drenched, dripping wet eyelashes

Blink! Away our tears

Last russets, ochres

Fade to black, stark silhouettes

A shock of green wakes

Silvery winters

Freeze to my bare bones cracking

Amber glows, melts ice
